Steering Damper: Service and Repair

Steering damper, emptying





^ Secure steering damper horizontally in vise.

WARNING: Always wear eye protection when performing this procedure.

^ Cut into steering damper at indicated position.
^ Arrow A = 30 mm from end of tube
^ Arrow B = 10 mm from end of tube
^ Hold strut over an appropriate drain bucket and move piston rod repeatedly through its entire stroke until no more oil flows out.
