Fuel Injector: Service and Repair



Fuel Injectors, Removing And Installing







- Remove engine cover (arrows).







- Remove the air intake tube (arrows) between the air filter and the throttle valve part.
- Disconnect vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator.







- Disconnect knock sensor harness connector -1- at left and right cylinder bank, remove cable tie if necessary.
- Remove Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112- from fuel rail pipe.
- Disconnect all harness connectors (arrows) at fuel injectors at left and right of cylinder bank.
- Remove fuel rail with injectors from intake manifold uniformly upward and set aside in rear of engine compartment on a clean cloth.

CAUTION: Fuel system is under pressure! Before opening system, place rags around the connection area. Then release pressure by carefully loosening connection.

- Disengage retaining clip and remove fuel injector.

Installing
Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:
- Replace O-rings at all opened connections.
- Lubricate O-rings with clean engine oil.
- Make sure fuel injectors are in place and seated correctly
- Check clips for unobstructed fitting.
- Place fuel rail with secured fuel injectors onto intake manifold, and apply uniform pressure to press it in.
