Brake booster, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment





- T10006 disengaging tool
- Sealing plugs from repair kit, Part No. 1 HO 698 311 A

Removing

- Remove driver's-side storage compartment.
- Attach bleeder hose of bleeder bottle to left-front brake caliper bleeder valve and open bleeder valve.
- Operate brake pedal to pump out as much brake fluid as possible.
- Close left-front bleeder valve.

Note: Cover engine compartment to make sure that brake fluid does not flow into it.





- Disconnect clutch master cylinder supply hose -1- and seal with plug.
- Disconnect harness connector for brake fluid level warning switch -2-.





- Disconnect brake lines -1- on brake master cylinder and seal brake lines using plugs from repair kit, Part No. 1 HO 698 311 A.
- Remove T45 Torx bolts -2- from brake booster.
- Disconnect vacuum hose from brake booster.

Disengaging brake pedal





Make sure brake light switch has been removed.
1. Inserting disengaging tool -T10006
^ Guide tool in from bottom
2. Disengagement procedure
^ Hold brake pedal securely. Pry retaining tabs from ball head by tapping lightly on tool (arrow-A-)
^ Keep tension on tool so that retaining tabs do not re-engage at ball head
^ Pull brake pedal from ball head (arrow -B-)

When installing, pay particular attention to the following points
- Brake light switch, adjusting.
- Vent valve for cruise control system, adjusting.

Bleeding clutch hydraulics:





- Connect VAS 5234 but do not switch on yet.
- Open bleeder valve on clutch slave cylinder.
- Attach collector bottle hose.
- Switch on bleeder unit and allow approximately. 100 cc of brake fluid to flow out of clutch slave cylinder.
- Close bleeder valve.
