Brake caliper, servicing





Double piston-brake caliper

Note:
^ Install complete repair kit when servicing.
^ New brake calipers are filled with brake fluid and are pre-bled.
^ Apply a thin coat of brake cylinder paste G 052 150 A2 to brake cylinders, pistons and seals.
1. Protective cap
^ Push onto bleeder valve
2. Bleeder valve
^ Apply thin coat of brake cylinder paste G 052 150 A2 to threads before screwing in
3. Brake caliper housing

CAUTION: Do not separate housing halves (socket head bolt). If dust seal for guide pin is damaged, replace brake caliper.

4. Sealing rings
^ Use 3409 wedge to remove
^ Insert carefully by hand
5. Pistons
^ Press out of brake caliper housing using compressed air
^ Apply thin coat of brake cylinder paste G 052 150 A2 before installing
6. Dust seals
^ Do not damage when installing piston
^ Install so that outer sealing lip goes over piston -
^ Install so that inner sealing lip enters groove in brake caliper housing
