Shift lever with rear push rod, removing and installing
Removing

Note: The shift lever knob is removed together with shift lever cover and cover for center console.





- Lift cover for center console upward -arrows-.





- Release connector piece -1- in direction of arrow and pull off shift lever knob together with shift lever cover upward.





- Lift cover off -1- first in direction of arrow -A- and then pull out in direction of arrow -B-.
- Remove bolts -arrows C- and then pull ashtray -2- from center console





- Lift out damping washer -1- and noise insulation -2-.





- Remove noise insulation for shift lever housing -arrows-.





- Remove securing nuts -arrows- for shift lever housing.
This lowers the shift lever housing.





- Detach push rod, by removing hex socket -head bolt -2-.
- Remove selector rod, by removing hex socket -head bolt -3-.
- Detach complete rear push rod - from shift lever housing -arrows-.
- Remove shift lever with rear push rod - from shift lever housing.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, note the following:
- Adjust gear selector mechanism.





- Place shift lever knob together with shift lever cover onto shift lever and turn connector piece -1- in direction of arrow till it stops.

Tightening torques
