Removing and Installing Locking Unit For 5TH Gear and Reverse Gear


Removing and installing locking unit for 5th gear and reverse gear





- Detach heat shield -arrow 2- above right drive axle.
- Loosen heat shield -arrow 1- above right drive axle and swivel downward.





- Remove locking unit -arrow-.

Assembling locking unit





- Insert spring -1- in housing -2- and turn counter-clockwise with slight pressure until spring engages in base of housing.
- Position bushing -3- on spring in such a way that bent end of spring is located in the groove intended for this purpose.
- With bushing -3-, compress spring and rotate approximately 1 turn counterclockwise until lug of bushing is located above groove in housing -2-.
- Press lug of bushing -3- into groove of housing -2- as far as it will go.
- Turn bushing -3- clockwise and release, bushing -3- jumps into installation position.





Installation position of bushing:
- Lug (arrow -A-) of bushing must always be positioned opposite groove (arrow -B-) of housing.

Checking installation position:
- Turn bushing counter-clockwise and release.
^ The bushing must always spring back into position, lug must be pushed on as far as it will go -direction of arrow A-





Installation position of locking unit assembly in transmission:
Recess (arrow -A-) faces bolt (arrow -B-)
