Grease quantities and types
Grease outside joints with G 000 603 grease.
Grease Tripod joints with G 000 605 grease.
Re-grease joint when replacing CV boot.





1. Hex bolt
^ Always replace after removal
2. Clamp
3. CV boot
^ Check for tears and chafing
^ Before tightening clamp, briefly raise edge of CV boot to allow pressure to equalize.
4. Clamp
5. Socket-head bolt
6. Joint piece
7. Tripod connection with rollers
^ Chamfer (arrow) faces splines of drive axle
8. Snap ring
^ Always replace
9. Sealing ring
^ Always replace

^ Always replace

For tripod joint
12. CV boot for tripod joint
^ Check for tears and chafing
^ before tightening clamp, briefly raise edge of CV boot to allow pressure to equalize. The joint must be in the center position.
13. Drive axle
14. Snap ring
^ Always replace
^ insert in groove on shaft
15. Outer CV joint
^ Replace only as complete unit
^ Installing: Drive onto shaft using plastic hammer, until snap ring engages
