Grease quantities and types
Grease CV joint with G 000 603 grease
Re-grease joint when replacing CV boot.





1. Cover
^ Always replace
2. Snap ring
^ Remove and install with standard securing pliers
3. Inner Constant Velocity (CV) joint
^ Outside diameter: 103 mm
^ Replace only as complete unit
^ Bonding surfaces must be free of grease and oil
4. CV boot with cap
^ Check inner CV joint for damage
^ Check for tears and chafing
^ Replace only as complete unit
^ Sealing surfaces of drive axle CV boot and cap must be free of grease when installing
5. Backing plate
6. Socket-head bolt
^ M10 x 20
^ First tighten all bolts to a pre-tightening torque of 15 Nm, then tighten all bolts to 70 Nm.
7. Drive axle
8. Clamp
^ Always replace
9. CV boot for outer Constant Velocity (CV) joint
^ Without ventilation hole
^ Check for tears and chafe marks; replace if necessary.
^ Check outer CV joint for damage
^ Sealing surfaces must be free of grease when installing.
10. Clamp
^ Always replace

12. Dished washer

13. Spacer ring (plastic)

14. Snap ring
^ Always replace
^ Insert in groove on shaft
15. Outer CV joint
^ Outside diameter: 100 mm
^ Replace only as complete unit
^ Servicing, Refer to Outer CV Joint, Servicing
^ Installing: Drive onto shaft using plastic hammer, until expanded securing ring snaps in.
^ When threading, the circlip must lie in the joint chamfer using pliers if necessary.
