Shift Interlock Cable: Adjustments


Locking cable, adjusting
Special tools and workshop equipment required





^ Setting bar for locking cable 3352 A
^ Protective goggles

Work preparations

Note: The procedure described below will save the effort of removing the center console.





- Using a cutting disk, cut off setting bar for locking cable 3352 A at rear end of flat section marked by arrow.

WARNING!: Wear eye protection.

- For other applications order a new locking cable setting bar 3352 A as replacement for one just modified.

Work sequence
- Remove shift mechanism cover .
- Remove ashtray in center console.





- - Loosen bolt -1-.
- It should be possible to move support bracket -2- for locking cable by hand.
- Insert setting bar 3352 A between pin on locking cable lever and locking cable eye.
- Pull locking cable in direction indicated (arrow) and tighten bolt to 9 Nm.
- Take out setting bar.
- Always test ignition key removal lock after adjusting locking cable.
