Lateral Accelerometer: Service and Repair


Sensor for transverse acceleration -G200 and Sender for Rotation Rate -G202, removing and installing
The senders -G202 and -G200 are located in a shared housing.
Special tools and workshop equipment required

Removing
- Remove center console extension.
- Item no. 3, ESP sender
- Item no. 1, A/C control module





The ESP sender is located in the center console underneath the ashtray.
- The wiring connection for the ESP sender is located behind a large wiring harness.





- Disconnect the plug -arrow- for the ESP sender





- Unscrew the acorn nuts -2- (2x)
Tightening torque of screws 10 Nm.

Installing
The remaining installation steps are carried out in the reverse sequence:
- Install center console extension.

Caution: Lateral acceleration sender is sensitive to impact.

If the sensor has been dropped by mistake it may not work properly and is not to be installed into the vehicle. Do not use the sensor anymore.
