Fuel Distributor/Fuel Injectors, Disassembling and Assembling

1 - Fuel injector insert - 3 Nm
- Use locking fluid D 000 600 A2 when installing
2 - O-Ring
- Always replace
3 - Fuel injectors - N30 through N33 -
4 - Supply hose
5 - Return hose
6 - Fuel distributor
7 - Socket - head bolt - 10
8 - Harness connector
- For injectors
- 4 pieces
9 - Fuel pressure regulator
10 - O-Ring
- Always replace
11 - O-Ring
- Always replace
12 - Retaining clip
13 - O-Ring
- Always replace
14 - Retaining clip
- Check for proper seating at fuel injector and fuel distributor
15 - Intake manifold

Fuel injectors, removing and installing
- Disconnect wiring/connectors at:
- Fuel injectors - N30 -, - N31 -, - N32 - - N33 -
- Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor - G42 -
- Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor 2 - G163 -
- Throttle valve control module - J338 -
- Charge air pressure sensor - G31 -
- Detach cable channel to fuel injectors.
- Remove 2 socket - head bolts for fuel distributor.
- Disconnect fuel supply and return lines at quick - release connection in front of right suspension strut.
- Disconnect vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator.
- Place fuel distributor toward front.


WARNING!
The fuel system is under pressure. When opening the system, place a rag around connections then release pressure by carefully prying open connection


- Disengage retaining clip and remove fuel injector.


NOTE: Fuel lines must be disconnected before replacing fuel distributor.


Installation is in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
- O - rings at all opened connections. (Never remove plastic cap from valve head or replace front O - ring, pry O - ring off over plastic cap)
- Lightly lubricate O - rings with clean engine oil
- Make sure fuel injectors are in place and seated correctly
- Check clip for unobstructed fitting
- Place fuel distributor, with fuel injectors securely installed, on intake manifold and press in evenly

Tightening torque
Fuel distributor at intake manifold: 10 Nm
