Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, erasing
Requirements:
^ DTC memory scanned.
^ All malfunctions corrected.
After DTC scan has been checked:
Display on VAS 5051:
- In selection touch -1- diagnostic function 05 - Delete DTC memory.
Display on VAS 5051:
1 - * No display (before deletion)
or
^ DTC memory deleted
Note: If the message appears in display field -1-: DTC memory has not been scanned yet, the test procedure was not followed exactly. The DTC memory can only be deleted if the DTC memory was scanned previously.
2 - Note: Are you sure you want to do this? Note: Data will be deleted!
- Touch OK button in display -2-.
- End function 05 - Delete DTC memory by touching < button.
- After repair scan DTC memory again.
Note: This deletes DTC's which were stored during repair of the fault, for example by removing harness connectors.
- After scanning and deleting DTC memory, test drive vehicle and scan DTC memory again.
The scan of the DTC memory must display:
No DTC recognized
Adaptation values for Transmission Control Module (TCM), basic setting
Note:
^ Following repairs to the valve body (e.g. replacing solenoid valves), if the valve body, the torque converter or the transmission is replaced, the adaptation values in the Transmission Control Module (TCM) should be reset. This allows the adaptation values for normal operation in the Transmission Control Module (TCM) to be learned more quickly following resumption of operation.
^ Adaptation values in the Transmission Control Module (TCM) are reset if
- multiple connector is removed from Transmission Control Module (TCM) for at least 15 minutes
- battery is disconnected for at least 15 minutes
