Sender For Fuel Gauge - G -, Removing and Installing (All wheel drive)
NOTE: The sender for fuel gauge -G- and the sender 2 for fuel gauge -G169- are removed in the same manner.
- Observe safety precautions.
- Observe rules for cleanliness.
Removing
- Remove fuel pump. Refer to "Fuel Pump, Removing and Installing (All wheel drive)" under Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Pump", Service and Repair
- Remove secondary fuel pump. Refer to "Secondary Fuel Pump, Removing and Installing (All wheel drive)" under Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Pump", Service and Repair
- Disengage connector prongs of electrical wires -3- and -4- and disconnect.
- Pry off retaining straps -1- and -2- using screwdriver and remove sender for fuel gauge towards bottom (arrow).
Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following:
- Insert sender for fuel gauge into guides at Fuel Pump (FP) and press up until engagement.
- Insert connector prongs of electrical wires and check for proper engagement.
- Install Fuel Pump (FP). Refer to "Fuel Pump, Removing and Installing (All wheel drive)" under Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Pump", Service and Repair
- Observe notes for connection of battery.
