Matte Paint Finish, Precautions
Model(s):
Allroad Quattro 2001-->
Service
Some areas of the vehicle are painted with a matte, scratch-resistant finish. These are the front and rear bumpers, the cover trim under the doors, rocker panels, wheel house flares, and roof.
To maintain this dull matte finish, hard waxes, cleaners/polishes, or wheel dressings must never be used on these areas. This can permanently damage the visual appearance of the surfaces of these parts. Please refer the customer to the owner's manual for additional details.
Note:
The vehicle may be washed in automatic car wash systems if all normal precautions are taken (i.e. windows closed). The "hot wax" program common to these wash Systems may also be used.
Important!
If the customer waxes the areas mentioned above, the finish will permanently have a glossy appearance instead of a matte look.
