Clutch K1 and K2

DETERMINING SHIM THICKNESS

Required shim thickness is determined from calculated gap x based on measured variables a and b.

Gap x = variable a - variable b

Determining Variable a

- Place straightedge (A in illustration) onto transmission housing.
- Press K1 downward in direction shown (arrows) and measure distance to K1 using depth gauge (B in illustration).

Example:
Measured distance "1" = 88.50 mm

- Measure distance to pump flange in transmission housing using depth gauge (B in illustration).

Example:
Measured distance "2" = 34.30

Calculate Variable a

Example:
Measured distance "1" - Measured distance "2" = Calculated dimension a
88.50 mm - 34.30 mm = 54.20 mm

Determining Variable b

- Place straightedge (B in illustration) against stator support and measure distance to pump flange gasket using depth gauge (A in illustration).

Example:
Measurement - Straightedge height = Calculated dimension b
79.50 mm - 19.50 mm = 51.00 mm

Determining Gap x

Example:
Variable a - Variable b = Gap x
54.20 - 51.00 = 3.20 mm

- Use calculated gap x to select shims according to the table below.
Service replacement shims are available in a range of thicknesses from 1.00 to 1.80 mm.
