Beginning with model year 1996 new Airbag V will be introduced in the Audi Cabriolet.

This Technical Bulletin is an update to the Repair Manual.

Note:
^ m.y. 1996 Airbag V will be introduced to USA.

^ Only control module software is revised.

^ Airbag V does not affect function or service for customer.

^ Service literature for Airbag III is still valid.

^ Airbag generation in vehicle can be determined by VAG 1551.

Airbag system, On Board Diagnosis

- Connect VAG 1551.

- Switch on ignition.

- Switch on printer (control light on)

- Select Rapid Data Transfer.





Display shows:

- Press button -1- and -5- to select Airbag code 15





Display shows:

Confirm input with Q-button





Display shows, after 5 seconds:

^ 8A0959655D : Part Number for Airbag V control module.

^ Airbag V, Audi: Component designation for airbag V

^ D02: Airbag Control Module software version.

^ Code 00127: Airbag control module code.

^ WSC 06812: Workshop Code.
