Roof frame seal, adjustingNote: If support brackets -7- (Part No. 8G0 945 421 A) are not riveted to the sealing rails, they must be secured as shown with M3 countersunk screws. Glue on a 2 mm (5/64 in.) thick backing strip -2- (e.g. rubber) as shown.
CAUTION! Part numbers are listed here for reference only.
Notes:
• The support bracket shown (Part No. 8G0 845 421 A0) must always be installed, or retrofitted if necessary. The front part of the support bracket must not be bent and must be installed at a right angle.
• The rear part of the support bracket can be bent back slightly to ease assembly
• The support bracket must be seated on the inside of the sealing rail.
• The longitudinal hole (arrow) in the support bracket must be opened up to match the elongated hole in the sealing rail.
- Apply corrosion protection as needed.
- Adjust seals so that a seal is made along top of door window glass.
• When roof frame seal is correctly adjusted, distance -b- must be 8 mm (+2.0/-0 mm) [5/16 in. (+5/64/-0 in)].
- Adjust height of roof frame seals (arrow -B-) as needed at elongated holes and screws (arrows -A-).
Notes:
• The illustration shows the convertible top in the upright position.
• If the amount of adjustment is not adequate, use screws with smaller threads and, if necessary, enlarge the elongated holes.
