Replacing Solenoid Valves In Hydraulic Pump Assembly

- Remove luggage compartment trim.
- Remove protective cover from hydraulic pump assembly.
- Remove connector from appropriate solenoid valve and remove Torx(R) screws -3-.
- Remove solenoid valve -2- from hydraulic pump assembly -1-


CAUTION!
Install solenoid valves only when valve is activated (power on). Use OBD "Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)" function 03 to activate valves prior to installation.


- Install connector on new solenoid valve.
- Connect VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST) and initiate convertible top "Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)". Testing and Inspection
- Select appropriate solenoid valve being replaced.

Indicated on display (example: solenoid valve 1-N88)

Output Diagnostic Test Mode ->
Solenoid Valve 1-N88

When solenoid valve is activated, one click should be audible.

- Install solenoid valve -2- in hydraulic pump assembly and tighten Torx(R) screws -3-.
Tightening torque: 8 Nm ± 0.5 Nm (71 in. lb ± 4 in.lb)
