Hydraulic Cylinder Hose For Storage Compartment Lid

Hydraulic cylinder hoses for storage compartment lid, removing and installing

Note: For replacement purposes, the hydraulic hoses are only supplied in pairs (supply and return hoses). When removing the hydraulic hoses, start from the hydraulic pump.

- Remove luggage compartment trim.
- Remove hydraulic pump from bracket. Service and Repair






- Remove screws (arrows).
Apply locking compound AMV 185400 A2 to screws when installing
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)






- Remove connecting plate -1- from hydraulic pump.

CAUTION: The hydraulic system is very sensitive to contaminates. The relevant components must be covered immediately after the hydraulic system is opened to prevent any dirt or debris from entering system.

- Using small screwdriver, pry retaining rings-i- (of hydraulic hoses to be removed) over collars on connection fittings (supply and return) and remove retaining rings.

CAUTION: When installing, install new retaining rings using special tool 3335.

- Cut open tie wraps in luggage compartment as necessary.






- Open clips -1- on storage compartment lid.
- Disconnect hydraulic hoses from connecting plate and plug with caps from replacement hoses.
- Pull hydraulic hose through into storage compartment.
- Disconnect harness connections for hydraulic cylinder.
- Disconnect hydraulic hoses from hydraulic cylinder and remove hydraulic hose.

- Connect new hydraulic hose to hydraulic cylinder.
Tightening torque: 28 Nm (21 ft lb).

- Connect harness connectors and route hydraulic hose as shown in illustration. Red marking on hydraulic hose must be under clip (arrow).






- Route hydraulic hose to pump in luggage compartment.
- Install connection fittings of hydraulic hoses through connecting plate.
- Install sleeve -1- of special tool 3335 over connection fitting, push retaining ring -2- over sleeve and push in with special tool -3- until properly seated.

- Install connecting plate on pump and install 4 screws.
Apply locking compound AMV 185 400 A2 to screws when installing
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)

CAUTION: Retaining rings -2- must be pushed all the way over the collar on connection fitting -1-.






- Install retaining rings, lubricate sealing rings -3- with hydraulic fluid and push on.
- Install hydraulic pump.
- Check fluid level at hydraulic pump and top off if necessary. Refer to "Hydraulic System, Bleeding and Filling" Service and Repair
- Install luggage compartment trim.
