Hydraulic Cylinder For Storage Compartment Lid, Remove/Install
Hydraulic cylinder for storage compartment lid, removing and installingNote: Hydraulic cylinders supplied as replacement parts are prefilled and complete with mounting brackets.
Removing
- Mark position of mounting bracket on storage corn partment lid using fine felt-tip pen or equivalent.
- Remove bolts -1- and -3-.
- Push piston rod into hydraulic cylinder to prevent loss of fluid.
- Disconnect harness connectors for compartment lid.
- Unscrew union nuts from hydraulic cylinder.
Installing
- Connect hydraulic hoses to hydraulic cylinder.
• Tightening torque: 28 Nm (21 ft lb).
- Reconnect harness connectors.
- Pull out piston rod to required length.
- Secure mounting bracket and align to markings made earlier.
• Tightening torque for bolts -1- and -3-: 10 Nm (7 ft lb).
- Check operation of convertible top and hydraulic fluid level at hydraulic pump. Refer to "Hydraulic System, Bleeding and Filling" Service and Repair
Note:
• If the storage compartment lid has to be replaced, mark the position of the mounting bracket for the hydraulic cylinder before removing.
• The new storage compartment lid must be installed according to this marking.
