Pyrotechnic Seat Belt Tensioner Micro-Switch, Checking, R & R

- Both belt integrated seats have two micro-switches and a warning buzzer which monitor back rest locking.
- The warning buzzer and both micro-switches are located in each respective seat.
- The warning buzzer and micro-switches can be replaced individually
- Use the appropriate wiring diagram for troubleshooting.
- To check the micro-switch, remove only the back rest cover and disconnect both micro-switch harness connectors.
- To remove a micro-switch or warning buzzer, first remove the seat.

Back rest cover, removing and installing
- Push back rest forward.





- Remove screws (arrows) at underside of back rest.
- Remove back rest cover downward.

Checking micro-switch
- Disconnect micro-switch harness connectors -A- and -B- from right micro-switch.





- Connect Fluke 83 digital multimeter to micro-switch harness connectors -A- and -B-.
- Specified value with seat folded forward: less than 1 ohm (switch closed, continuity).
- Specified value with locked back rest: infinity (switch open, no continuity).

Removing and installing micro-switch
- Remove seat.
- Disassemble seat.
- Disconnect micro-switch anchor and remove switch from retainer.





NOTE: After installing a new micro-switch check cable clearance.


Back rest lock warning buzzer, removing and installing
- Disassemble seat.
- Remove warning buzzer from front of seat.

Warning buzzer is located above seat shell and is not visible from below
