Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

WARNING: FIRE HAZARD! Disconnect battery ground strap when working on the fuel system. Do not smoke or create any sparks where odor of fuel vapor is present.

RELIEVE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

Fuel Rail:

- Loosen fuel supply line fitting at left rear of engine compartment to relieve any remaining pressure, using a rag to catch any escaping fuel, then re-tighten.

NOTE: The fuel pressure regulator can be removed and installed without removing the fuel rail. The fuel pressure regulator is held in place by a clamp.

FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR REMOVAL
- Remove vacuum hose from regulator.
- Loosen and remove fuel return line from regulator.
- loosen and remove regulator clamp.
- Remove regulator from fuel rail.
- Install in reverse order.

NOTE: Use new O-ring gaskets and lubricate them lightly fuel prior to installation.
