EGR Electronic Vacuum Regulator Solenoid: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve controls the vacuum applied to the the EGR valve.

OPERATION
The EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve is operated by a pulsed (duty cycle) ground from the Engine Control Module. The vacuum regulator solenoid valve opens the EGR valve by applying vacuum. Engine load and speed determines the amount the EGR valve is opened or closed.
