Canister Purge Solenoid: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Canister Purge Regulator Valve regulates the amount of fuel vapors that enter the intake manifold when the engine is operating.

OPERATION
The Canister Purge Regulator Valve will start to operate when the oxygen sensor starts working and operates via a duty cycle from the Engine Control Module. The duty cycle will vary depending on the engine temperature, engine load and speed. The valve remains open when no current is applied (engine OFF).
