Air Door Actuator / Motor: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Image shows the fresh air/recirculating flap vacuum motor with the heater box and evaporator housing assembly removed.

Located in passenger side, on right side of heater box.

- Remove passenger side lower instrument panel cover.
- Disconnect vacuum hose from vacuum motor.
- Connect hand vacuum pump US 8026 to vacuum motor.
- Create 300 mbar (20.7 in. Hg) of vacuum using pump and hold.
- Fresh air/recirculating flap moves to stop (recirculating mode)
- Vacuum must hold steady and not drop more than 1O% in two minutes.
- Flap must remain in recirculating mode position

If no:
- Replace fresh air/recirculating flap vacuum motor.

NOTE: Remove entire heater box and evaporator housing assembly to replace vacuum motor.
