Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

Fig.1 Brake Booster Push Rod Adjustment.:

1. Remove master cylinder as outlined under Hydraulic System/Master Cylinder, Brakes.
2. Disconnect vacuum line(s) from booster.
3. Remove brake booster attaching bolts.
4. Disconnect booster pushrod from brake pedal.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Adjust push rod length "a" to 10.66-10.70 inches Fig.1.
b. Torque booster mounting bolts to 18 ft. lbs.
