Installing
1 - Torx(R) bolts (T20)
- 5 Nm (44 in. lb)
2 - Airbag connector
3 - Airbag unit
4 - Nut for steering wheel 40 Nm (30 ft lb)
5 - Mounting bolts
- 5 Nm (44 in. lb)
6 - Torx(R) screws (T30), airbag
- 6 Nm (53 in. lb)
7 - Harness connector for airbag spiral spring
8 - Airbag spiral spring
9 - Bearing pin
10 - Shipping safety screw

Removing and installing
- Where applicable (m.y. 1994 and 1995) disconnect single-pin airbag power supply harness connector.
- Loosen bolts -6- from back side, remove airbag unit -3- and disconnect airbag harness connector -2-.


WARNING!
Always set down a removed airbag unit down (e.g. on a workbench) with the horn pad facing upward.


- To install, tighten right-side Torx(R) bolt first, then left-side
- 6 Nm (53 in. lb)

Retrofit installation of sport steering wheel with airbag
The sport steering wheel with airbag can be installed on 1995 production vehicles. The sport steering wheel with airbag, airbag, and plate must be ordered. The sticker with the expiration date must be removed from the new airbag and placed on the lower part of the driver-side B-pillar.
