Outside Temperature Display, Checking

- Disconnect outside (ambient) temperature sensor connector, located behind lower left-front grill near headlight.
- Connect VAG1630 digital potentiometer between two sensor connector terminals.
- Switch ignition on.
- Adjust VAG1630 digital potentiometer as follows:

Setting on VAG1630 Outside temperature display
5600 -10 °C ( 14 °F)
3200 0 °C ( 32 °F)
1200 20 °C ( 68 °F)
500 40 °C (104 °F)

If the displayed values are not as specified:
- Check outside temperature display harness connector terminals for proper signals. 5-Pin Outside Temperature Display Harness Connector
- Repair open circuit in wiring according to wiring diagram, or replace outside temperature display.
