5-Pin Outside Temperature Display Harness Connector

Terminal 1: vehicle speed signal
- Set digital multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to AC mV range.
- Connect red multimeter test lead to connector terminal 1.
- Connect black multimeter test lead to Ground (GND).
- Drive vehicle at walking speed.

Specification: approx. 4 mV

Terminal 2: outside (ambient temperature sensor)
- Set digital multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to resistance measuring range.
- Connect red multimeter test lead to connector terminal -2-.
- Connect black multimeter test lead to Ground (GND).

Specification: resistance value varies with temperature according to graph





- Compare measured resistance with graph.

Terminal 3: Ground (GND)





- Set digital multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to resistance measuring range.

- Connect red multimeter test lead to connector terminal -3-.
- Connect black multimeter test lead to Ground (GND).

Specification: 0 (ohm) (continuity)

Terminal 4: instrument illumination, terminal 58d





- Switch parking lights on.
- Set digital multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to voltage measuring range.
- Connect red multimeter test lead to connector terminal -4-.
- Connect black multimeter test lead to Ground (GND).

Specification: 2.75-12 volts, depending on position of instrument panel light dimmer switch

Terminal 5: Positive (+) terminal, terminal 15a





- Set digital multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to voltage measuring range.
- Connect red multimeter test lead to connector terminal -5-.
- Connect black multimeter test lead to Ground (GND).
- Switch ignition on.

Specification: approx. Battery Positive Voltage (B+)
