Wastegate Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

WORK SEQUENCE

- Remove connector from multi-thermo switch
- Switch ON ignition





- Quickly brush ground with terminal as shown
- Clicking of the two-way valve must be heard





If NOT heard:
- Pull off terminal from wastegate solenoid (arrow)





- Connect multimeter US 1119 between terminal 1 (green/purple wire) and ground
- Specification: approx. 12 volts
- Connect multimeter US 1119 between terminal 2 (blue/black wire) and terminal 19 of control unit (see below)





- Specification: 0.0 ohms

If NOT OK:
- Check for open circuit in wiring or connectors

If still NOT OK:
- Replace wastegate solenoid
