Shift Linkage: Adjustments

QUATTRO COUPE & TURBO

1. Place shift lever in neutral.
2. Adjust length of adjusting rod so that distance between center point of end holes is 5.275 inch.
3. Loosen clamp nut, ensuring that shift rods move freely.
4. Loosen bolts slightly, align centering holes of gearshift lever housing and stop plate, and tighten bolts.
5. Install tool 3048 or equivalent, tighten clamp nut, and remove tool.
6. Engage 1st gear, press shift lever to left stop, and release shift lever.
7. Engage 5th gear, press shift lever to right stop, and release shift lever.
8. If lever does not spring back approximately the same distance in steps 6 and 7, move gearshift lever housing slightly in slots sideways.
9. Ensure that all gears engage easily without jamming.
