QUATTRO COUPE & QUATTRO TURBO

1. Remove wheel cover and loosen lug nuts, then remove dust cap and the axle nut.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then remove lug nuts and wheel.
3. Remove right backing plate.
4. Disconnect axle shaft at transmission flange and position out of way.
5. Using suitable puller, press out stub axle from hub. Use only mechanical or hydraulic puller to remove stub axle. Never use hot air blower or flame to heat stub axle.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Replace gasket on inner constant velocity joint. Ensure that splines on stub axle and wheel hub are free of oil, grease and old locking compound.
b. Apply bead of suitable locking compound approximately 13/64 inch wide around splines and install stub axle. Allow locking compound to harden for at least one hour.
c. Torque axle shaft to transmission attaching bolts to 58 ft.lbs., lug nuts to 80 ft.lbs., and axle nut to 203 ft.lbs.
