This system, Fig. 1, is used on all models with CIS injection. The temperature switch opens at 58°C (136°F) during rise in temperature and closes at 48°C (118°F) during falling temperature. When the temperature switch is closed, diaphragm chambers I and II are connected by a one-way orifice. During acceleration, vacuum in chamber II is higher than that in chamber I. This causes the diaphragm and upper spring base to be pulled down. This action provides enrichment due to pressure differential. The enrichment time is determined by the size of the orifice.
