Brake Fluid Accumulator: Service and Repair

CAUTION:
Before working on brake system, relieve system pressure by firmly depressing brake pedal approximately 20 times.

1. Disconnect the following lines from flow regulator:
^ Pressure line from power steering pump.
^ Pressure line to brake servo.
^ Pressure line to power steering unit.
^ Return line to oil reservoir.
2. Disconnect wires to low pressure warning switch on flow regulator.
3. Remove mounting nuts from upper mounting plate.
4. Remove flow regulator with pressure accumulator.
5. Install in reverse order of removal being sure to use new gaskets for hollow bolts.
6. Torque lines as follows:
^ Pressure line from power steering pump, 30+10 Nm (22+7 ft lb).
^ Pressure line to brake servo, 25+10 Nm (18+7 ft lb).
^ Pressure line to power steering unit, 45+5 Nm (32+3.5 ft lb).
^ Return line to oil reservoir, 15+3 Nm (11+2 ft lb).
