Coolant Overheat Switch

Coolant Overheat Switch

Purpose and Operation
The coolant overheat switch is incorporated in the electronic thermoswitch which is located on the cylinder head coolant flange. If the engine coolant exceeds 247°F (120°C), terminal R of the thermo-switch will send a ground signal to terminal 20 of the control panel head.

The control panel head will then turn the A/C compressor off via the programmer. This will help lower coolant temperature by reducing the engine load.
