Frequency Valve: Testing and Inspection

OXS Frequency valve, checking
Work sequence





Unplug electrical connector (arrow) from OXS frequency valve

Note: Oxygen sensor frequency valve is located in the passenger side front fender cavity.





- Using LED test light US 1115, connect red test lead to terminal 1 and black lead to terminal 2 of open OXS frequency valve connector
- Initiate output diagnosis sequence until code 4441 for OXS frequency valve is displayed
^ Specification: LED on US 1115 must be OFF

If light is OFF
- Replace OXS frequency valve

If light is ON
- Connect voltmeter between terminal 1 and ground
^ Specification: approx. 12 V

If voltage reading NOT OK
- Check for open circuit in wiring according to current flow diagram

If voltage reading OK
- Remove control unit cover, located in front passenger footwell





- Unplug control unit connector





- Connect ohmmeter between terminal 8 of open control unit connector and terminal 2 of open OXS frequency valve connector
^ Specification: approx. 10 ohm

If ohmmeter reading NOT OK
- Check for open circuit in wiring between frequency valve connector and control unit connector according to current flow diagram

If ohmmeter reading OK
- Replace control unit
