High Pressure Sensor

Purpose and Operation
A temperature sensor is installed in the high pressure refrigerant line between the condenser and evaporator. The sensor is located in the plenum towards the left side of the heat exchanger housing.

The sensor senses the temperature of the refrigerant and sends a corresponding NTC resistance signal to the control panel head. From this signal, the control panel head can calculate refrigerant pressure. If the high pressure exceeds a predetermined level, the A/C compressor will be shut off to prevent damage from overpressure.
