Disassembly and Assembly
Hydraulic pump seals, replacingWork sequence
- mark position of both pump housings (lower arrow) with punch
- remove bolts (upper arrows)
- separate pump housings and remove washer
- remove 0-ring (arrow)
- remove 0-rings (arrow)
- press triangular flange off pump shaft
- push pump shaft by hand out of pump housing (arrow)
NOTE: If pump shaft shows score marks caused by seal, replace complete pump
- pry seal out of pump housing
- coat seal between seal lips with multi-purpose grease
- press seal in until seated (lettering pointing toward mandrel)
- slide bearing bushing onto pump shaft
- align washer in pump housing to bore
- insert pump shaft with bushing into housing and push in until seated (push pump pistons back into housing to allow pump shaft to enter housing)
- press triangular flange on pump shaft until flush with shaft (shoulder of flange toward tool)
- insert new 0-rings
- slide washer on pump shaft
- bolt both pump housings together
CAUTION: Ensure correct seating of 0-rings and of marks (arrows)
When working on the central hydraulic pump, the suction chamber for the pump (arrow) must be filled with hydraulic oil prior to attaching the return line from the fluid reservoir
CAUTION: Failure to prime the pump after repairs may cause damage due to dry running.
Use only approved hydraulic oil, P/N G 002 000
