Canister Purge Control Valve: Testing and Inspection
Charcoal canister shut-off valve, checkingWork sequence
- Unplug electrical connector (arrow) from charcoal canister shut-off valve, located in right front wheel house
- Using LED test light US 1115, connect red test lead to terminal 1 and black lead to terminal 2 of open connector
- Initiate output diagnosis sequence until code 4343 for charcoal canister shut-off valve is displayed
^ LED of US 1115 must be ON
If light is ON
- Replace charcoal canister shut-off valve
If LED is NOT ON
- Connect voltmeter between terminal 1 of open shut-off connector and ground
specification: approx. 12V
If voltage reading NOT OK
- Check for open circuit in wiring according to current flow diagram
If voltage reading OK
- Remove cover for control unit located in front passenger side footwell
- Unplug, control unit connector
- Using ohmmeter, check continuity between terminal 2 of shut-off valve connector and terminal 3 of control unit connector A
^ Specification: 0.2 ohm
If ohmmeter reading NOT OK
- Check for open circuit in wiring according to current flow diagram
If wiring OK
- Replace control unit
