Checking Pressure Accumulator Gas Pressure

NOTE:
- Gas pressure of new accumulator should be 78-82 bar (1276-1334 psi) at 20°C (68°F)
- Minimum gas pressure 30 bar (435 psi) at 20°C (68°F).

1. With engine off, depress brake pedal approximately 20 times to reduce brake system pressure.

Brake Pressure Warning Light Switch:

2. Disconnect electrical connector and remove warning light switch.

Pressure Gauge Attaching Point:

3. Attach suitable pressure gauge with hollow bolt and copper washers to brake servo unit. Attach thick copper washer between brake servo unit and banjo fitting and the thin copper washer between hollow bolt and banjo fitting.
4. Start engine and let idle unit pressure gauge reads approximately 140 bar (2030 psi).
5. Turn ignition off.
6. Pump brake pedal until pressure drops slowly.
- Pressure reads at point where gauge needle drops rapidly to 0 is gas pressure of pressure accumulator.
- If pressure is less than 30 bar (435 psi), replace accumulator.
7. Remove pressure gauge.
8. Install brake warning light switch and reinstall connector.
9. Check all connections for leaks.
