Removing- disconnect battery ground (-) strap
- disconnect battery positive (+) cable
- remove securing plate
Installing
- make sure securing plate (arrow) is pressing on lower edge of battery
- connect battery positive (+) cable
- connect battery ground (-) strap
Resistance for exciter circuit, checking
Note
If complaint "battery not being charged" is received although warning light comes on when ignition is switched on and goes out when ignition is switched off, resistance for exciter current should be checked as follows:
- disconnect battery ground strap
- disconnect blue wire (D +/61) from warning light in engine compartment
- connect ohmmeter between blue wire of warning light and battery plus terminal
- turn ignition on
Ohmmeter reading: 140 to 160 ohms if reading is above 160 ohms, printed circuit for LEDs must be replaced
Battery discharges-troubleshooting current draw suspected
Test conditions fully charged battery clock disconnected
