Removal
NOTE: Injectors may cause the following symptoms:
- misfiring
- knocking in one or several cylinders
- engine overheating
- decrease in power/performance
- high fuel consumption
- increased presence of blue smoke during cold starting
NOTE: Faulty injectors can be located by loosening pipe union on each injector (in turn) with engine running at fast idle. If engine speed remains constant after loosening pipe union, this indicates a faulty injector.
REMOVING
- remove injector lines using line wrench 3035
- remove injectors using socket wrench SW 27
NOTE: Always remove the complete line set. DO NOT change the bend on formed pipes.
INSTALLING
NOTE: Always replace the heat shields between the cylinder head and the injector.
- installation position of heat shield (arrow) points toward cylinder head
- tightening torque: injection lines: 25 Nm (18 ft lb) injectors: 70 Nm (52 ft lb)
