Injection Pump Timing
- remove cylinder head cover and drive belt guard for injection pump drive
- turn crankshaft to TDC on cylinder No. 1
After doing so:
Markings on flywheel/clutch housing (white arrow) and injection pump sprocket/mounting bracket (black arrow) must align
- lock injection pump sprocket with pin 2064
- secure drive sprocket for injection pump with locking wrench
- remove drive sprocket with drive belt
- check once again the TDC marking on flywheel, if necessary, adjust to reference mark
Adjusting Lineal:
- Adjusting lineal must fit into the cutout in the camshaft.
NOTE: If the adjusting lineal cannot be inserted: slowly turn crankshaft until the adjusting lineal can be inserted.
- remove drive belt guard for camshaft drive sprocket; loosen mounting bolt for cam shaft sprocket approximately one turn
- loosen camshaft sprocket from tapered shaft of camshaft using light hammer taps
NOTE: Use a pin drift through the opening in the support plate.
- turn crankshaft until TDC marking on flywheel aligns with boss on clutch housing
- torque camshaft sprocket
- specification: 45 Nm (33 ft lb) and remove adjusting lineal
- mount drive belt with sprocket for injection pump
- tighten mounting screw for sprocket enough to allow sprocket to be turned by hand
- check drive belt tension, adjust if necessary
- check TDC marking on flywheel, if necessary adjust to reference mark
- secure injection pump sprocket with locking wrench
- specification: 100 Nm (74 ft lbs)
- remove pin 2064
- check injection pump delivery
- mount drive belt guard and cylinder head cover
