A manifold-pressure compensator (LDA), Fig. 11, is used in turbocharged Diesel (turbo-diesel) engines. In these engines, basic fuel delivery is matched to the increased cylinder filling provided by turbocharging. When the engine operates with less than maximum air, fuel delivery must be adjusted accordingly; it is the function of the manifold-pressure compensator (LDA) to reduce fuel delivery when manifold pressure falls below a predetermined value.
