Fuel Delivery

For good emission characteristics, the fuel must be metered in such a way that there is excess air even at full load. In addition, the fuel quantity must be controlled so that engine speed does not fall below the predetermined idle speed, nor exceed the maximum allowable value. Adaptation to particular operating conditions can require further corrections to fuel delivery.
