NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to damage the dashboard or the other interior trim pieces.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
1. Remove the front seat belt lower anchor from the seat, and remove the seat mounting bolts Front Seat Removal / Installation.
2. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
3. Remove these items:
- Kick panels, both sides
- B-pillar lower trims, both sides
- Front seats, both sides Front Seat Removal / Installation
- Rear seat cushion
- Center console Center Console Removal / Installation
- Steering joint cover Steering Column Removal/Installation
4. Remove the footrest (A) by pulling it to detach the clips.
5. Remove the carpet (A).
1. Detach the clips fastening the carpet to both door sill areas.
2. Release the Velcro fastener (B) on the front edge of the carpet, then pull back the carpet from under the dashboard.
3. Pull the floor wire harnesses (C) out through the slits (D).
6. If necessary, release the hook (A) that is just under the arrow mark (B) on the floor mat holder (C) by prying up on the holder with a flat-tip screwdriver, and remove the holder through the slit (D) in the carpet (E).
7. If necessary, detach the clip, then remove the carpet spacer (A).
8. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet.
- Make sure the seat harnesses are routed correctly.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.
