Audio System Symptom Troubleshooting - XM radio preset memory is lost
XM radio preset memory is lost (Canada models with navigation)
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- Make sure the remotes are linked.
- If you can only tune to channel 000, 001, 174, and 247, make sure the audio-navigation unit is set to channel mode (see the Owner's Manual), if it is set to channel mode, call XM Radio client support, and check the account activation status.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
2. Turn on the audio system, and set each of the XM radio channel preset buttons.
Do each of the XM radio channel preset buttons set properly?
YES -
Go to step 3.
NO -
Go to step 5.
3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode for 1 minute, then back to ON (II), or the ON mode.
4. Test all of the XM radio channel preset buttons for proper recall operation.
Do the preset buttons recall the set radio stations?
YES -
The system is OK at this time. Check connections at the audio-navigation unit.
NO -
Go to step 5.
5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
6. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 1 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Go to step 8.
NO -
Go to step 7.
7. Measure the voltage between audio-navigation unit connector C (14P) terminal No. 1 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 1 and audio-navigation unit connector C (14P) terminal No. 1.
NO -
Replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.
8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
9. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 11 and body ground.
Is there less than 0.2 V?
YES -
Replace the XM receiver XM Receiver Removal / Installation (Without AcuraLink).
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 11 and audio-navigation unit connector C (14P) terminal No. 11.
