The MID displays and HFL message do not go away after pressing the HFL BACK button
NOTE: Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
1. Connect the HDS to the DLC.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are there any DTCs indicated?
YES -
Troubleshoot the indicated DTCs.
NO -
Go to step 4.
4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
5. Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
Are the messages cleared?
YES -
Replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.
NO -
Replace the gauge control module Service and Repair.
