Audio-Navigation Switch Panel Button Illumination Does Not Work (With Navigation)




Audio System Symptom Troubleshooting - Audio-navigation switch panel button illumination does not work

Audio-navigation switch panel button illumination does not work (with navigation)

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

2. Turn the combination lighting switch to the parking light position.

3. Check the illumination of the audio-navigation switch panel buttons.

Are the buttons illuminated?

YES -

Intermittent problem: The audio-navigation switch panel is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at the audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector.�

NO -

Go to step 4.

4. Check the illumination of several other buttons not related to the audio system.

Are the buttons illuminated?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Troubleshoot the interior lights. Start by checking the No. 6 (7.5 A) fuse in the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box. If the fuse is OK, check for an open in the wire between passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box and the audio-navigation switch panel.�

5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

6. Disconnect the audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector and the gauge control module 32P connector.

7. Check for continuity between audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector terminals No. 11 and No. 12 and gauge control module 32P connector terminal No. 8 and No. 27 respectively.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 8.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire between the gauge control module and the audio-navigation switch panel.�

8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

9. With the headlight switch still on, measure the voltage between audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector terminal No. 23 and body ground.





Is there battery voltage?

YES -

Check the connections at the audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector. If all connections are OK, substitute a known-good audio-navigation switch panel Audio-Navigation Switch Panel Removal/Installation (With Navigation), and recheck. If the symptom/indicated goes away, replace the original audio-navigation switch panel Audio-Navigation Switch Panel Removal/Installation (With Navigation).�

NO -

Repair an open in the wire between the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box and the audio-navigation switch panel.�
