Tightening Torques and Sequences
Cylinder head boltsMeasure the diameter of each cylinder head bolt at point A and point B.
If either diameter is less than 11.3 mm (0.44 in.), replace the cylinder head bolt.
FRONT
REAR
Tightening torque 29 N-m (3.0 kgf-m, 22 lbf-ft)
Tighten further 90°
Tighten further again 90°
If using new bolts
Tighten further 90°

Exploded View
Injector Base
Torque 22 Nm (2.2 kgf-m, 16 ft lbs)
Tighten mounting bolts/nuts (D) in a crisscross pattern in three steps, beginning with the inner nuts.
Intake manifold
Torque 22 Nm (2.2 kgf-m, 16 ft lbs)
Tighten the mounting bolts and nuts sequentially in three steps
Upper Cover
Torque 12 Nm (1.2 kgf-m, 8.7 ft lbs)
Tighten the mounting bolts and nuts sequentially in three steps
Throttle Body
Torque 22 Nm (2.2 kgf-m, 16 ft lbs)
Crankshaft bearing cap
Bearing cap bolts 74 N-m (7.5 kgf-m, 54 lbf-ft)
Bearing cap side bolts 49 N-m (50 kgf-m, 36 lbf-ft)
Connecting rod cap
Measure the diameter of each bolt at point A and point B.
If difference in diameter is out of tolerance (0-0.1 mm or 0.004 in.), replace the connecting rod bolt.
Tightening torque 20 N-m (2.0 kgf-m, 14 lbf-ft)
Tighten further 90 °
Crankshaft Pulley
Tightening torque 64 N-m (6.5 kgf-m, 47 lbf-ft)
Tighten additional 60 °
Drive Plate
Tightening torque 74 Nm (7.5 kgf-m, 54 ft lbs)
Tighten the eight bolts in a crisscross pattern in at least two steps
With SH-AWD
Oil pump
Housing 12 Nm (1.2 kgf-m, 8.7 ft lbs)
Water pump
Torque 12 Nm (1.2 kgf-m, 8.7 ft lbs)
